Travvvy! Travis Porter From ATL to the World

The group now better known as Travis Porter aka "Travvvy" has taken the rap world by storm and have coined such hits as "All Da Way Turnt Up" along with Roscoe Dash, "Go Shorty GO" and "Bananaz" and the list just continues to grow as they invade your airwaves. Many think they came out of nowhere, but they have been at it long before fans confused them as one person instead of the artistic Trio that is Strap, Quez and Ali AtlantaRappers.

Let me tell you about how I was first exposed to the group and what they mean to the music industry of Atlanta.Travis Porter before the name and fame were just three young guys growing up on the streets of Atlanta, Ga. They represent for the youth in Atlanta, because were parents want their kids to grow up to be Doctors, Lawyers, & Teachers. Atlanta, Ga is all about party promoters, the next big producer, and the weekly hottest rapper. They really come and go just as fast as trends in the fashion industry. One week its this guy and the next week its that guy, but Travis Porter has next week and beyond, because in 2009 through all the controversy and ups and downs they laid a foundation in the rap game and did it all independently might I add.

Go back to last year where they were featured on the undeniable hit "All Da Way Turnt Up" which is when I first realized that it was three guys and not one. From the song being featured on Television shows to the theme music for NFL teams while entering the battlefield there was nowhere the song wasn't being heard and the whole world screamed Travvvy until a newcomer formally known as "ATL" now Roscoe Dash put up a YouTube video claiming that the song was his and that Travis Porter was only featured on the song. This turned a lot of fans on Travis Porter and many Travvvy fans against the newly found Roscoe Dash, because nobody really knew who was the originator, until they done the noble thing and came forth with the fact that it wasn't their song. Not to say they stole it, but that it was mere confusion amongst club promoters booking them under the song, their management and the all out greed of business.

Next to add to the confusion newcomer Roscoe Dash re-released the single "All Da Way Turnt Up" featuring young rapper Soulja Boy which was a strategic move knowing that the song would hit radio and spread like wildfire online due to the rappers large fan base of screaming teenage boys and girls instantly coining Roscoe Dash as the originator. You would think it marked the end for Travis Porter, but not only did they bite the bullet and not fold under the weight of a major label signee like Soulja Boy, but they released another single named "Go Shorty Go" which caught on quickly and hit the streets of Atlanta with a bang and was later followed by a quality video that you wouldn't usually see coming from an independent group. Needless to say by now you've probably heard of Travis Porter and know their story.
